Gemyn

Meditation - Aura - Confidence

  • Gemyn is a Nai-led (patriarchal) society. The people of Gemyn are amongst the more mysterious folk in Mydista. While most of Gemyn society is spread out amongst the marshlands, two major cities were built as gateways to the Undermurk, a series of cavernous tunnels believed to be an Outworlder trail. The people of Gemyn therefore have steeled themselves against the mind-altering presence of the Outworlders, due to frequent exposure.

They spend their days meditating, journaling, and self-affirming to stave off the madness. Any citizen may be drafted to the city under the mountain, so even those in the cushy marshlands stay vigilant.

  • Gemyn call the swamp / marsh lands of Mydista home. Their territory resides to the Northeast to the Capitol.

    Key Settlements:

    1. Eless, capital city and lake town of Gemyn.

    2. Galex, the city under the mountain, deep in the Undermurk.

    3. Mort, the gateway to the Undermurk.

    4. Vilvale, set firmly in the marshlands, bordering Setir territory.

    5. Bair, laketown north of the marshes.

  • Outworlder

An Outworlder is one of many alien species that are made for destruction and consumption through the use of Arcane Magic, which consumes and alchemically transmutes material. When a human receives an Alter Mark in a Trial of the Palazar, they become an Arcane Magic user, and among Mydistan society, labeled an Outworlder Witch. Every Outwordler was at some point in training to be another class, but often will not be allowed to learn any further once the Alter Mark appears. For many years, Outworlders have been cast out of society and forced to live in the wilds, save for the few who have been selected to become the Knights. Policy in Mydista is changing, and the language around Outworlders is moving towards rehabilitation rather than excommunication. Gemyn as a society has embraced the Outworlders and has made a conscious effort to create space for them. The Knight class specialty in Gemyn used to be Chosen, as they were the most well equipped to fend off the Outworlder Fiends, but recent cultural changes have regarded the Chosen doctrines as traditionalist and old-fashioned.

Back To Factions

Hamn is a 23 year old Nuwe (female) from the Vilvaler Clan, located in the southern marsh of Gemyn. She has spent most of her young life studying to become one of the Council of the Chosen, a political and spiritual leader of her people. The Vilvaler Clan exert an enormous amount of pressure on their candidates to succeed, but also to attain positions of power and status.

Hamna’s election into the knighthood was not in her plans, however, so she is altogether brilliant and out of her depth. She is not completely without skill on the battlefield, and her love of a challenge often means that her power is heightened when she feels disadvantaged.

The people of Gemyn believe that only by understanding oneself, can one improve the world around them. Their innate Aspect Magic is Animus Magic, which allows them to extend and create tangibility with their own souls. Wards of protections are among the most common uses of Animus Magic, but some skilled Animus Mages can even produce light that is harmful to Outworlders. Hamna is a scholar at heart, but it won’t take her long to learn offensive magic if she deems it necessary.
