Elica
Nature - Synergy - Preservation
-
Elica are a Nuwe-led society (Matriarchal) that prizes togetherness and community with nature. They are adventurers, explorers, nomads, but they all come back together and celebrate with music and dance. They are the closest friends of the Free, due to their affinity for, and stewardship of, nature.
In Elica society, it is common for a family to foster many animal companions. When a member of the clan becomes a traveler, there typically is a ceremony where they are offered a Free Contract, which is a partnership with a Lesser Free to aid in their travels. The people of Elica love to swim and sail and are very at home in the water.

Elica call the long coastal beachheads of Mydista home. Their territory resides to the East to the Capitol, Fiore.
Key Settlements:
Ilben is the Capitol and the southernmost city of Elica.
The Bog is a city built upon the network of rivers that web outward and flow from the Tutio mountains to the Elican Sea.
Fidali is the main port city of Elica, and where any expedition is chartered from. It is the closest city to the island upon which Elica’s Palazar resides.
Kenz is the northernmost city of Elica that stretches from within the mountains, surrounding a lake.
Daeg sits at the foot of the Great River in Mydista, which leads all the way to Mydista’s Capitol city of Fiore.

Wayfarers
In Elica, it is common for groups to become nomadic and travel along the coast. Other groups may form a performing troupe, some may band together and sail the seas as a crew. When someone decides to go on a solo adventure, and live nomadically on their own, they are considered a Wayfarer. While community is a strong bond, Wayfarers are celebrated as Leaders, guides, and knowledge seekers who will bring back stories from far off places. Very often, a Wayfarer will earn hospitality through offerings of entertainment or safe passage.
Not every traveler can call themselves a Wayfarer. Survival skills are crucial in all environments, as well as an affinity for the wilds of nature. When a troop of Soldiers need to pass safely through a dense natural area, they rely on a Wayfarer to show them through without harm.

Pier Blue, Soaked Clay Brown
Naia is a 24 year old Nuwe (female) from the Bogmallin Clan. Her clan is located in The Bog, which is in the region of Elica, and borders the marshlands of the Gemyn region. Upon completing the Trials of the Palazar, she receives an Alter Mark, and is deemed an Outworlder. Naia loves her people and believes it is her destiny to protect them. The Alter Mark she bears is a source of shame, as her people misinterpret her heroic intentions as having ulterior motives. Her uncle Garrett, with whom she is very close, was the last Blue Knight before the Emblems became dormant. She is incredibly driven, but not to the point of recklessness. She is allergic to most animals, and is working towards a Free Contract with a Puffer Free named Gaspar, who is a bit of an ass. In a fight, she prefers to face her opponent one-on-one.
The people of Elica are in tune with their community, nature, and life spirit. Their innate Aspect Magic is Aether Magic, which allows them to connect with and gather aid from the spiritual energy around them. Some are healers, some commune with the flora, fauna, and Free (Fairie-folk), and some command nature itself. Naia also is trained in Fate Magic, as to stave off the powers of her Alter Mark and the influence of other Outworlder Witches. Her Alter Mark gives her access to Arcane Magic, which is forbidden in Mydista, as it is seen as unnatural.
